It is no secret that there has been a lot of money spent in the Saudi Pro League this summer. There have been some unsuccessful bids, too.

Al-Hilal have made a £259 million offer for forward Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, but they couldn’t get the deal over the line.

An offer, albeit not as much money as Mbappe’s, was made by Al-Hilal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen but that, too, was rejected.

Just what are the top ten most expensive signings that the Saudi Pro League sides have made this summer?

10-7

Number 10 is Kalidou Koulibaly. Al-Hilal signed the defender from Chelsea for a fee in the region of €23 million (£19 million). The defender struggled during his time in England but represents a great price for the Saudi side.

Number nine is Seko Fofana, a surprise name on this list. Al-Nassr signed the midfielder from RC-Lens for €25 million (£20 million), and at just 28, the defender is in his prime and made the move to the Saudi side in his prime.

Number eight is Allan Saint-Maximin. Perhaps the Frenchman is one of the most surprising names on the list. Al-Ahli shelled out €27 million for the forward, who deemed Saudi Arabia an upgrade on Champions League side Newcastle United.

Number seven, another surprising name, is Jota from Celtic. The Portuguese winger joined Al-Ittihad for a fee of €29 million, and is sure to be a star in the Middle East.

6-3

Number six is Sadio Mane. The forward joined Al-Nassr for €30 million from Bayern Munich, as the winger struggled in Germany. Number five is Riyad Mahrez, who completed his move from Man City for €35 million (£30 million) after helping City win their historic treble.

Number four is Sergej Milinkovic Savic for €40 million as he joined Al-Hilal, despite the midfielder being heavily linked with moves to the Premier League. Number three is Malcom. The Brazilian winger, who used to be at Barcelona, signed for Al-Hilal for a large fee of €45 million (£40 million).

The top two

In second place is Fabinho, the midfielder who joined Al-Ittihad from Liverpool, made the move following the Anfield club finishing outside of the Champions League places.

Number one is Ruben Neves. The former Wolves man made the move to Al-Hilal and is the highest fee on this list, which is €55 million (£50 million).

This fee could be overtaken if the Saudi side pulled off the deal to sign Osimhen from Napoli, with talk of a £140 million offer.
