Along with Huddersfield Town, Leeds United are arguably the surprise of the season. When Garry Monk took over in the summer, many expected the former Swansea City manager to struggle under Leeds owner Massimo Cellino. However, bringing in an exciting attacking style of football, as well as transforming their defence, Garry Monk’s Leeds United are unrecognisable to the one we have watched over the last few years.
With a play-off place now looking like a certainty, Leeds United fans will now likely be surveying their potential opponents, wondering who they could meet in a Wembley final. With the untold riches of the Premier League awaiting, who Leeds United come up against could potentially prove to be enormous for the history of this club.
So who are Leeds United fans hoping to avoid? And how are they feeling about their chances of promotion? HITC Sport asked them all this and more…

“I think we could take anybody!” said one Leeds United fan, who was perhaps understandably confident about his side’s strengths. “In a one off game like that, anything can happen” added another Leeds fan. The confidence was their for all to see amongst Leeds supporters, which just goes to show how far this team has come under Garry Monk.
“If Newcastle dropped out of the top two, we wouldn’t want to be playing them” said one Leeds United fan, who might not have to worry about that now after the Magpies beat Brighton 2-1 recently.
Other Leeds United fans suggested they wouldn’t want to come up against Sheffield Wednesday. “They are a quality side” said one fan, whereas another added he wouldn’t want to face Wednesday due to the “strike-force they’ve got.”
“Huddersfield, I thought they were awesome” added another Leeds United fan. Their recent came saw Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner clash with Monk on the sidelines after a late Terriers goal.
