Which players would you not mind seeing Leeds boss Garry Monk allow to leave this month?
As the January transfer window passes the halfway mark, HITC Sport has put together a poll looking at the Leeds United players that perhaps some would not mind seeing move on this month. But before we give the fans the chance to vote, here is a look at the five contenders…
Toumani Diagouraga
Leeds United’s Toumani Diagouraga
Of all the players within the Leeds United squad, it is perhaps Toumani Diagouraga that is most likely to move on this month. The midfielder has not played since the opening day defeat against QPR, and Garry Monk himself has said the best thing for him would be to leave Elland Road (via Radio Yorkshire).
Giuseppe Bellusci
The mistake-prone defender is currently out on loan with Serie A side Empoli until the end of the season. However, with the current centre-backs performing so well at Leeds, a permanent departure in January may not be met with much fanfare at all.
Ross Turnbull
Ross Turnbull
Ross Turnbull is still awaiting the chance to make his first-team league debut for Leeds following his move to the club in 2015. And while he may have previously been considered to be Marco Silvestri’s understudy, the arrival of Rob Green and the emergence of Bailey Peacock-Farrell means that Turnbull is arguably fourth in the pecking order.
Matt Grimes
Unfortunately for Matt Grimes, his loan move to Leeds has just not worked out. He has enjoyed some bright moments, but is another player who needs more than a couple of injuries to teammates if he is to enjoy a prolonged run in the team. A termination of his time in Yorkshire may therefore not be the biggest surprise perhaps.
Lee Erwin
Watford’s Jose Holebas in action with Leeds United’s Lee Erwin
Lee Erwin’s career at Elland Road has not taken off either and he has spent much of his time following his move out on loan. A disappointing spell at Oldham has surely done little for his hopes of making the grade with his parent club. Again, he is currently set to remain at Boundary Park for the rest of the campaign, but HITC Sport recently suggested that a loan move to Scotland this month may be on the cards.
