Which Leeds loanees are impressing this season?

Leeds have sent several players on loan this season.

Leeds United have a host of players out on loan and the club could face some difficult decisions next summer when deciding which of them warrant a place in the first-team squad.

Here’s an assessment of how each of the players spending time away from Elland Road are getting on:

Lewie Coyle

Although he has often previously played as a right-back, Coyle has frequently been used slightly further forwards as a right wing-back for League One side Fleetwood Town this season.

Coyle lost his place in the Fleetwood starting line-up recently but the 22-year-old has the ability to return to the starting line-up and still has a chance of succeeding at Leeds.

Marcus Antonsson

After struggling to adapt at Leeds, Antonsson has impressed for Blackburn Rovers this season, scoring seven goals in 16 League One appearances.

Antonsson has shown that he can cut it in League One but the Championship is another step up and it is perhaps best if he leaves Leeds permanently in the summer to try and rebuild his career elsewhere.

Ouasim Bouy

A versatile player who can feature at centre-back or in central midfield, Bouy has endured a nightmare spell at Cultural Leonesa in the Spanish second tier as he has made just two appearances in the league.

It doesn’t appear that the 24-year-old has any chance of succeeding at Leeds.

Tyler Denton

Capable of playing as a left back or further forwards on that flank, Denton has been a regular for Port Vale in League Two this season.

At the age of 22, he is approaching the stage in his development where a concrete decision needs to be made on his future but he at least deserves a chance of succeeding at Leeds.

Luke Murphy

Murphy has been a mainstay for Burton Albion this season and has even captained the Championship side on some occasions.

However, the 28-year-old appears likely to leave Leeds permanently in the summer.

Mallik Wilks

A talented young forward, Wilks has scored three goals in 15 League Two appearances for Accrington Stanley.

The 18-year-old is due to return to Leeds in January but could earn an extended loan stay at Accrington before being involved in the senior squad at Elland Road next season.
