The results from HITC Sport’s poll asking which Leeds legend would make the greatest impact in the current team if they were playing in their prime today are in. But which Elland Road hero did you tip to make the greatest impression in Garry Monk’s team?

Here is the top three…

3rd: John Charles (10%)

The Gentle Giant John Charles took third place of the players named in the poll. The Welshman was not only a brilliant goalscorer, but also a brilliant defender, and having someone who could make a major impact in both boxes would surely provide Garry Monk’s squad with a major boost in their fight for promotion, especially if that someone was as gifted as Charles.

2nd: Gary McAllister (14%)

While ‘Other’ technically claimed second place with 15% of the vote, Gary McAllister finished second of the named players within the poll. His technical ability and set-piece delivery was superb during his time at Elland Road, and having such a creative force in their ranks would make such a difference to the current team.

1st: Billy Bremner (42%)

It was never going to be anyone else really. Billy Bremner was the inspirational leader and excellent midfielder who drove Leeds to so much success under Don Revie. With him in the current team, Garry Monk would definitely be able to nail down one of his midfield selections for a change, and a place in the play-offs would certainly not be good enough for Bremner.
