Newcastle United and Southampton are reportedly keen on signing the Club Brugge winger.
According to a report from the Sun, Newcastle and Southampton are set to swoop in for Anthony Limbombe, after the Club Brugge star’s proposed £11 million move to Huddersfield collapsed at the last minute, but which club would be best suited to the Belgian?
The 24-year-old is a left midfielder by trade, but he can also operate in a more advanced role on either wing.
Newcastle are reportedly keen to sell Matt Ritchie, whilst Southampton have already sanctioned Dusan Tadic’s exit from the club, so both teams are in desperate need of another winger.
Limbombe might just be better suited to Newcastle, though.
Rafa likes his teams to build their attacks down both flanks, with an emphasis being placed on patient build-up play.
Hughes, on the other hand, implements more of a direct system, and that could mean that Limbombe is bypassed, hence making his qualities redundant.
The Belgian winger possesses blistering pace, and is equally as strong with both feet, making him an absolute nightmare to defend against.
Rafa is currently overseeing an exciting project at Newcastle, and the 24-year-old Club Brugge ace would be an excellent addition to his squad.
St James’ Park would be a great place for Limbombe to flaunt his talent, and whilst Southampton is undoubtedly a great club to play for, the Belgian might just be better off choosing a switch to Tyneside instead.
