Darren Ambrose has claimed that Tottenham forward Richarlison is ‘entertaining’ and a player whose antics ‘don’t go down too well with people’, as he told talkSPORT.

The Tottenham-mad pundit spoke about how Richarlison is already becoming a ‘fan favourite’ following his club-record transfer from Everton.

Last week, he scored his first goals for Antonio Conte’s side when he netted a brace during their 2-0 win over Marseille in the Champions League.

And, following the postponement of Premier League games at the weekend, he will be straight back into Champions League action on Tuesday night.

Spurs are on the road and they will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the new season when they lock horns with Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night.

Will Conte keep Richarlison in the XI? Well, you certainly would think so given his form, as former Palace midfielder Ambrose shared his thoughts on the Brazil International.

“I think he is becoming a bit of a fan favourite,” said Ambrose. “An awful lot of money to pay for a player. I said it at the time when Spurs signed him, but it’s the value Everton put on him.

“If he can do what people expect him to do, what he does for the Brazil national team, then he will be a top player.

“You are thinking if Kulusevski comes out or Son comes out, then you can replace them with Richarlison, that’s fantastic squad depth there.

“His little antics as well and showboating, it doesn’t go down too well with people, but I have no issue with it. Not just because he’s a Spurs player, but you would want entertainment, whether you like it or not, he’s entertaining.”

RICHARLISON BANGING DOWN THAT DOOR

This is what Conte wanted when he dipped into the summer transfer market to bulk up his squad.

The levels of the starting XI isn’t dropping by much when he is making changes, but could Richarlison now start games on a regular basis?

Son Heung-min has enough credit in the bank, but he isn’t performing and he has to get his first goal pretty soon.

Whilst Richarlison was handed a chance ahead of Dejan Kulusevski and now he’s performing, so from that perspective, he probably deserves to keep his place in the XI.
