The summer signing from Swansea has had a slow start at the club, kept out of the side by Danny Rose, but has seized his chance over the last fortnight.
The Welshman impressed again in the 2-1 win over Everton, and matched up well against a players considered England’s best left-back, Leighton Baines.

While Baines found success going forward with his crossing, defensively it was Davies who came out on top.
The Tottenham defender made more tackles, interceptions, blocked crosses, and won a higher number of aerial battles than his Everton opponent.
Baines is seen as the best left-back in the league, and while this isn’t to suggest on the back of a few areas in one game Davies is ready to take over that spot, measuring him up against the England international is a good barometer of which to assess his game.
It’s early into his career at White Hart Lane, but it’s clear to see the 21-year-old has huge potential, and Spurs may have bought very astutely – a statement which has not been uttered too many times over the last couple of years.
