The latest DP World Tour season has wrapped up, and it is no surprise that Rory McIlroy has come away with yet another Race to Dubai title.

Even though he fell short in a playoff against Matt Fitzpatrick at the DP World Tour Championship, he still managed to accumulate enough points to take home the top honour.

That is now seven Race to Dubai titles for the Northern Irishman, putting him just one short of Colin Montgomerie’s record.

But there is already one category where McIlroy stands alone at the top.

The table below shows the biggest career earners on the DP World Tour.

McIlroy has dominated this list over the past several years, with a reported total of €67,801,396.77.

The next closest is Lee Westwood at €38,825,014.17, an amount nowhere near the Northern Irishman’s earnings.

Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood are next up in third and fourth places respectively, with Sergio Garcia rounding out the top five.

Despite the loss at Jumeirah Golf Estates, McIlroy had nothing but good things to say about Matt Fitzpatrick, congratulating him in a message posted on social media.

Paul McGinley has mirrored this action towards McIlroy, posting on X: “Another successful season DP World Tour, despite the doom & gloom over the last few years of many. With changes in pro golf it evolved & thrived.

“Congrats Matt & great to see more new stars emerge too. Rory box office & legacy secured as one of the greatest ever sportsmen.”

It is hard to argue with that assessment. In Dubai, McIlroy forced a playoff with an eagle at the final hole- another reminder of his ability to deliver in big moments.

With seven Race to Dubai titles, four coming consecutively, his place among golf’s elite is secure. And for many, he ranks among sport’s all-time greats as well.
