Could Aston Villa, Bristol City or Swansea City take interest in the Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper?

Sheffield Wednesday are thought to be ready to sell Keiren Westwood ahead of next Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to the Sheffield Star.
The newspaper reports that Westwood is not being considered for selection by the Owls, despite being fully fit and having retained the number 1 shirt he has worn for four years since his arrival at Hillsborough.
It seems the only thing keeping him at Wednesday is a buyer.
But while Stoke City continue to be listed among the 33-year-old’s potential destinations, that move could depend on the Potters’ ability to offload Jack Butland – the England number 2 whose presence would almost certainly keep Westwood waiting in the wings.
There are, however, other clubs in need of a new first choice goalkeeper – which is the least Westwood deserves after his service to Sheffield Wednesday.
Could any of those come calling?
Aston Villa

Linked with a move to Aston Villa in late 2016 (the Sun), Westwood could again feature on the Villans’ radar after last week’s investment, although it remains to be seen how much money will be made available to manager Steve Bruce. The Midlands club are yet to replace Sam Johnstone – their number 1 for the past 18 months – while Bruce worked with the Irishman at Sunderland. Aston Villa are the closest of the three clubs on our list to Westwood’s Manchester roots.
Bristol City

Luke Steele’s release and an injury to Frank Fielding has left Bristol City desperately short in Westwood’s position ahead of the new season. The Robins have already prised away one Sheffield Wednesday player this summer – Jack Hunt – and a reunion could be feasible for Lee Johnson’s side, whose coffers have been boosted by the big-money sales of Aden Flint and Bobby Reid this summer.
Swansea City

Swansea have sold Lukasz Fabianski to West Ham United since the end of last season, but are yet to replace him. Former Heerenveen pair Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Erwin Mulder are ready to step in for the Pole, although Westwood could be an option should the Welsh side wish to add more Championship experience.
