HITC understands that the Saudi Pro League remain keen on Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah and could yet make a move.

Under Arne Slot, Liverpool have begun the season in fine form with the Merseyside club winning three games out of three without conceding a single goal in that process.

Slot’s side pulled off the most impressive victory before the international break with Liverpool beating Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford with two goals from Luis Diaz and a brilliant finish from Mohamed Salah.

The talk after the game was about the future of Salah who admitted to Sky Sports that this would be his last year at Anfield.

Saudi Pro League still keen on Mohamed Salah

The Saudi Pro League did not make an offer for Mo Salah after the Egyptian superstar opted to not agitate to leave Anfield this summer – but they remain firmly interested in securing his signature in 2025.

HITC understands that had Jurgen Klopp remained at Anfield then Salah would have left the club this summer.

After discussing with his team – Salah decided that he wanted to experience life under new manager Arne Slot before leaving Liverpool.

Salah does have a plan to move to Saudi Arabia at some point as he believes helping expand the game into the Middle East is important.

The Egyptian winger has had a brilliant start to the current campaign with the former Chelsea ace looking in top form against United and he took his goal, which made it 3-0, very well.

Salah is understood to be willing to give Slot the chance, and HITC is told that is why talks over a new contract have not taken place, because they were not planned.

Liverpool keen to sit down with Mohamed Salah

Liverpool were understood to be aware of Salah’s situation and that he was ready to give Slot a chance and they were not ready to push for a new deal until that had happened.

Salah’s current deal expires next summer, to that point HITC understands Liverpool have expressed a desire to sit down in a few months to gauge his thinking and whether he would like to extend his stay.

This time will allow Liverpool to assess Salah’s situation and make a decision about the sort of contract they would like to offer the Egyptian.

Liverpool are also looking to tie down Trent Alexander-Arnold to a new deal on similar wages to Salah – who is currently the club’s highest earner on over £300,000-a-week.
