Jamie Carragher has criticised Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on Sky Sports Premier League (8:37pm, February 13, 2023) for the goal that Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool in the first half of the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Monday evening.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that Everton and England international goalkeeper’s positioning was wrong for the goal that Liverpool and Egypt international forward Salah scored in the first half of the Premier League.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports Premier League.

Salah opened the scoring in the 36th minute.

It came after Everton had an effort come back off the frame of the Liverpool goal.

Jurgen Klopp’s side went on a brilliant counter-attack.

Darin Nunez found Salah, and the former Chelsea attacker finished it off.

Pickford came rushing out, but the £100,000-a-week (The Sun) goalkeeper could not really force Salah into making a mistake.

The Everton goalkeeper did not trouble Salah at all.

Now, while Pickford had to come out and close down the Liverpool forward, he could have it done better and maybe even quicker.

Carragher said: “The finish from Mo Salah is fantastic, but you have to question the goalkeeper. I mean, where is he going? He finds himself in no man’s land.”
