Ian Wright questioned Alan Shearer on the Premier League’s Instagram page as to why he didn’t pick Arsenal defender Gabriel in his Team of the Week.

Match of the Day pundit Wright asked ‘Where’s Gabriel’, added with an angry emoji, to which the ex-Newcastle man hilariously replied ‘In his house maybe at the min’.

Arsenal recorded a valuable 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday as they won the bragging rights of North London.

One Arsenal player who did make Shearer’s TOTW was Emile Smith Rowe, who ripped Spurs apart down that left-hand side, alongside Kieran Tierney.

Erik Lamela, who scored quite a stunning Rabona goal during the game, also made the TOTW, even though his team suffered a defeat and he got sent off.

But it’s obvious as to why he’s there.

As for Gabriel, it needs to be remembered that he made a crucial goalline clearance after Harry Kane hit the post from a dead-ball situation.

He was outstanding throughout the game for Arsenal and he did well to keep Kane at bay.

And even though Shearer opted for three CB’s at the back. Gabriel still couldn’t get in.

Ozan Kabak, for helping Liverpool keep a clean sheet against Wolves, James Tarkowski after Burnley’s win at Everton and Luke Shaw were the one’s selected at the back in Shearer’s TOTW.
