Four players from the Yorkshire club, including Barry Bannan, are away with their countries.
Sheffield Wednesday may not have been firing on all cylinders so far this season, but that has not stopped several of their first team regulars receiving international call ups ahead of the weekend’s World Cup qualifiers.
Two of them, Barry Bannan and Steven Fletcher, will be hoping to make an impact for Scotland as they face England at Wembley.

Bannan, who has 24 caps to his name, has told the Sheffield Star that “it will be one of the great moments of my career so far” if he is involved on Friday evening, though he faces midfield competition from the likes of James McArthur and Scott Brown, who has come out of international retirement for the match.
The action from Wembley begins at 7.45pm and is live on ITV1.

Across Europe on Friday evening, defender Daniel Pudil will be representing the Czech Republic in their clash with Norway. Both sides have made poor starts to their Group C campaigns, with only San Marino sitting below Pudil’s Czech side after three games.
For those wishing to see if Pudil helps them improve their fortunes, the match is live on Sky Sports 1 via the red button at 7.45pm.

The final Owl on international duty is Keiren Westwood, who is part of the Republic of Ireland squad in Vienna for the match against Austria.
Martin O’Neill’s side are in a strong position in Group D, but that could all change with a poor result at the weekend so they will need to be on their game in the Austrian capital.
