We catch up with some of the Everton youngsters to leave the club in recent years.

One former Everton youngster that Ronald Koeman’s side have already come up against this season is Adam Forshaw. The midfielder ended his twelve-year stay at Goodison Park in 2012 to sign for Brentford. He has since won promotion to the Premier League with Middlesbrough, and has been ever-present in Aitor Karanka’s side during this campaign.
Chris Long is currently on the books of Premier League side Burnley, but has spent most of this season on-loan at League One sides. The striker spent the first-half of the season with Fleetwood Town, before joining automatic promotion contenders Bolton Wanderers last month.
Long isn’t the only former Everton academy prospect to be plying his trade in League One. Ryan Ledson and John Lundstram are both part of Michael Appleton’s Oxford United team. Ledson has featured regularly for the U’s since November, playing alongside captain Lundstram in the centre of midfielder.
They are joined in English football’s third tier by former Toffees forwards Kieran Agard and Hallam Hope. Agard, 27, has netted nine times for the MK Dons this season, including goals against Northampton Town, Peterborough and Bolton Wanderers in recent weeks. Hope, who left in 2015, is facing a relegation battle with Bury.
Shane Duffy might be returning to Goodison Park next season if his promotion push with Brighton Hove Albion stays on course. After a nightmare start to the 2016/7 campaign with Blackburn Rovers, Duffy has been part of an impressive Seagulls back four that looks in good stead to earn automatic promotion.
Ryan Watson plays for League Two play-off outsiders Barnet. The midfielder had spells with Wigan Athletic, Accrington Stanley, Leicester City and Northampton Town until he was offered a move to the Bees last summer.

Tranmere Rovers are hoping to bounce back to the football league this season with the help of an Everton academy product. James Wallace endured an injury-stricken spell with Sheffield United until his release last month. He has since joined Micky Mellon’s side that also features former Toffees goalkeeper Iain Turner.
Mageye Gueye, Johan Hammar and Joa Silva are among the former Everton young guns to be showcasing their talents abroad. Gueye, who joined Everton as a 19-year-old, ended his disappointing spell with the club to sign for Millwall in 2014. Last season, he helped Adanaspor win promotion to the top tier of Turkish football.
Silva has played for six clubs since leaving Goodison Park in 2012, including Palermo and Levski Sofia. The Portuguese midfielder, 26, is now playing for mid-table Serie B side Salernitana.
Meanwhile, Hammar returned to Swedish football with Malmo in 2013. He was part of the squad that won the Allsvenskan title, but soon joined mid-table Orgryte IS in pursuit of first-team football.
