Glasgow Rangers hosted one of Europe’s biggest clubs at Ibrox in the Champions League 11 years ago this week.
This week marks 11 years since Rangers hosted Inter Milan in their final game of the Champions League group-stages during the 2005/06 season knowing that they could need a positive result to reach the knockout stages of the competition for the first time.
Their chances of doing that were dealt a blow on the half-hour mark however, as Adriano scored for the away side. However, Peter Lovenkrands got Ibrox rocking when he equalised eight minutes later.
Ultimately, the 1-1 draw was enough for the Light Blues as they secured second spot in the group, behind Inter, and went on to face Villarreal in the last 16. Only away goals denied them a place in the quarter-final against a team that would go desperately close to reaching the final.
But what became of that Rangers side that faced the Nerazzurri that night:

Ronald Waterreus
The Dutch goalkeeper’s stay at Ibrox was a brief one, but he still managed to make nearly 50 league appearances for the club. After leaving in 2006, he joined AZ Alkmaar before finishing his career in MLS with New York Red Bulls.
Marvin Andrews
The defender left Rangers in 2006 and went on to become a journeyman footballer. Among the long list of clubs he has played for in the decade since his departure were Raith, Hamilton and Wrexham. The 40-year-old was playing for Clyde just last season.
Sotirios Kyrgiakos
Kyrgiakos also only spent a brief amount of time with the Gers before leaving in 2006. He would play for the likes of AEK Athens, Liverpool and Sunderland before finishing his career in Australia in 2014.
Ian Murray
After leaving Rangers in 2007, he played for Norwich and Hibernian before joining Dumbarton as player-manager. After three years, he became St Mirren boss in 2015, but only lasted 21 games.
Fernando Ricksen
The Rangers legend left for Zenit in 2007 after struggling under Paul Le Guen. He returned to his first professional club, Fortuna Sittard in 2010 and retired in 2013. He continues to battle bravely against ALS.
Bob Malcolm
Malcolm spent nearly a decade with the Gers before leaving in 2006. He struggled to make much of an impact at various clubs following his departure, including Derby County, Motherwell and Cowdenbeath. It was after his spell with the latter that he retired in 2011.
Chris Burke
Burke stayed with Rangers until 2009 when he moved to the English leagues. After spells with Cardiff City, Birmingham, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham, he joined Ross County in the summer.
Barry Ferguson
Barry Ferguson
Ferguson was enjoying his second spell at Ibrox when Inter visited. He would return to England in 2009 with Birmingham. He would later join Blackpool before finishing his playing career at Clyde, where he remains as manager.
Thomas Buffel
The 35-year-old left Rangers in 2008 to return to his native Belgium. After a spell with Cercle Brugge, he joined Genk in 2009 where he remains to this day.
Hamed Namouchi
The Frenchman left Rangers in 2006, joining Lorient. After spells in Germany, France and Tunisia, he joined Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
Peter Lovenkrands
Lovenkrands joined Schalke after leaving the Gers. He would return to Britain, spending time with Newcastle United and Birmingham before retiring in 2014.
