Speaking to GQ Sports, Raheem Sterling has been reviewing some of his past and present teammates, and he’s been speaking about his England captain, Harry Kane.

Kane and Sterling have struck up a brilliant partnership while playing for England in recent years, and the Chelsea ace had nothing but good things to say when he was asked about Kane.

The winger described Kane as a leader and as a player who is able to turn up in the big moments and provide a goal when the team is in desperate need.

Sterling hails Kane

The former Manchester City man spoke highly of his England teammate.

“A leader, he leads by example, he can rally up the guys, he does that for sure. And yeah, he can score a goal when you need one,” Sterling said.

Man for the big moments

Sterling described Kane as the man who can score a goal when the team needs it, and he’s proven that for England time and time again.

He netted a late winner in the opening game of the last World Cup campaign, while he also scored in extra-time against Denmark to send the Three Lions to the Euros final last year.

The Three Lions will be hoping to see more moments of inspiration like this from Kane this winter, and if he’s at his best, he could well carry England to the cup.

Of course, Kane is yet to win a single trophy in his career, and he’s also never scored in a major final, but as Sterling says, he can turn up in the big moments, and it wouldn’t be surprising at all if some late, great goals are scored by Kane in Qatar.
