Any fan of wrestling will know Goldberg as one of the most dominant performers at a time when the sport was at its most popular.
While he was never a technician in the ring, Goldberg was certainly one of WCW’s biggest stars during the late 1990s, going on a famous – and somewhat dubious – unbeaten streak.
He won the world title in both WCW and WWE. And he was known for his explosive power, with the spear and the jackhammer his two most iconic moves.
He also demonstrated some of that power on a golf course during a PGA Tour event back in 2002.
When Goldberg launched someone into a lake at a PGA Tour event
The tournament now known as The American Express used to involve a Pro-Am, where some of the game’s top professionals played alongside celebrities and amateurs.
Phil Mickelson won the tournament in 2002 following a playoff with David Berganio Jr. But it is the antics of Bill Goldberg that are probably best remembered to this day.

Following the conclusion of one of his rounds, someone emerged from the crowd and began to pretend to throw punches into Goldberg’s ribs.
Goldberg – who was billed as weighing 285 pounds during his wrestling career – proceeded to launch the person into the lake by the green with relative ease, as can be seen in the video of the incident.
Goldberg’s opponent narrowly escaped serious injury in stunt
While it did appear to be staged, the stunt is actually slightly uncomfortable to watch. The person involved does not manage to clear the rocks by much at all, despite Goldberg’s best efforts.
Thankfully, it seems that no harm was done. And everyone involved saw the funny side, with Goldberg subsequently chasing one of his playing partners around the putting surface.
It was not the only time Goldberg played up during the round. Another clip saw him on his front as he attempted to putt the ball like the green was a pool table.
Sadly, he failed to find the bottom of the cup.
It was certainly not what you would expect to see at a PGA Tour event. But then, who was going to be brave enough to tell Goldberg how to behave?
