Everton are in need of a change in midfield, with Morgan Schneiderlin under-performing and his young teammate deserving a chance.

Everton’s struggles continued on Sunday as they drew 1-1 with Brighton and Hove Albion thanks to a last-gasp equaliser from Wayne Rooney.
Before the summer signing’s face-saving penalty, it had looked like Everton would suffer yet another defeat, potentially condemning their manager Ronald Koeman to the sack in the process.
As it is the Dutchman remains in charge at Goodison Park, at least for now, and he has some big decisions to make ahead of Everton’s next league game against Arsenal on Sunday.

Before that, the Toffees face Lyon in the Europa League but that competition is well down Koeman’s list if priorities as things stand, and his next meaningful team selection will be when he squares off against the Gunners in just under a week.
Having already dropped the likes of Ashley Williams and Davy Klaassen in recent weeks, the next big move for Koeman should be to ax Morgan Schneiderlin and replace the Frenchman with Tom Davies.
Everton look woeful with the former Manchester United man in the heart of their midfield, with Schneiderlin doing nothing to justify his inclusion and allowing the game to pass him by more often than not.

In Davies, Everton have a player who actually wants to move and to pass the ball forward, something Schneiderlin seems unwilling or unable to do this season.
While the 27-year-old has struggled week after week, Davies has barely been used in recent weeks, the one minute he got against Brighton the perfect example.
Davies may only be 19 but he is exactly the kind of player that should be starting week in, week out for Everton as they attempt to pull themselves back up the table this side of Christmas.
