Lewis Morgan hasn’t started a game for Celtic yet, but it must only be a matter of time.

The 22-year-old, who joined up with Celtic in the summer after officially signing for them in January, has only made five substitute appearances for the Hoops this season.

But if his performance for Scotland Under-21s was anything to go by this week, the former St Mirren talent has sent a big message to Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers.

Morgan scored against Ukraine last week, before turning in an excellent display in the Scots’ 2-0 defeat by their English counterparts in midweek.

Both performances are unlikely to have gone unnoticed by Rodgers, but will it make a difference to his playing time at Celtic?

Morgan, who can play as a number 10 or on the left-hand side of attack, must continue to impress in every chance that he gets.

If his performances at international level are anything to go by, it’s surely only a matter of time before Rodgers gives him the chance he’s been waiting for.
