Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports Super 6 that people tend to forget that Leeds United are a promoted club.

The former Liverpool defender, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has said that while it is true that Leeds and their head coach Marcelo Bielsa gets a lot of praise from him and other pundits, it must be noted that they won automatic promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of last season.

Carragher said about Leeds on Sky Sports Super 6: “I am going to go B+. It’s a funny one, Leeds. I think some people feel Leeds get too much appreciation, but I think sometimes we forget they are a promoted team.

“When I hear people criticise and say Bielsa gets too much praise, maybe we do praise Bielsa, maybe not too much but more than other managers in the situation because he is different, he is new to the league, he has got an interpreter, he has got more mystic about him.”

Leeds United deserve their praise

Leeds have been superb so far in the Premier League and are playing very well.

True, the Whites tend to concede more goals than they should, but they also score a lot of goals and are a fun team to watch.

This is the first season that Leeds are back in the Premier League since 2004, and they have been brilliant all-round, and Bielsa has been deservedly praised.

Leeds fans must be loving life at the moment, although it is a shame that they cannot attend games at Elland Road or away from home.
