Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has provided a bit of behind-the-scenes insight on Gabriel Martinelli and the type of person he is.
As well as his punditry and recent work on The Masked Dancer, Seaman is also a part-time coach at Arsenal, helping the young goalkeepers with their game on occasion.
Of course, Seaman also sees a few first-team players while he works with the youngsters, and he says that Gabriel Martinelli is genuinely one of the nicest people within the Arsenal squad, stating that he’ll often come over to the younger players and say hello.
Seaman’s Martinelli claim
The pundit spoke about how brilliant Martinelli is around the training ground.
“He’s a really nice guy. When I go in and I coach with the young lads and he’s always around the young lads and saying hello, so he’s a really nice guy and to see him performing how he is on the pitch is brilliant. He’s playing without fear and causing problems, he was causing problems for Trent, and not just Trent, the whole Liverpool defence,” Seaman said.
Culture change
The culture at Arsenal seems to have really shifted to be more positive in recent years.
For the longest time at Arsenal we had stories of players falling out and toxic atmospheres with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Matteo Guendouzi causing ructions behind the scenes in the past.
However, Mikel Arteta has completely changed the standards at Arsenal, and now, the Gunners have so many genuinely likeable young players.
Martinelli sounds like he’s brilliant with the youngsters, while the Amazon Prime documentary showcased Bukayo Saka’s personality as he brought in Christmas gifts for every member of staff.
This Arsenal squad is one of the most talented in the Premier League and it’s also filled with fantastic characters.
