Jim White has put his Rangers loyalty to one side and encouraged Eddie Howe to take the Celtic job this summer.
The Hoops are still on the hunt for a long-term successor for Neil Lennon after he resigned from his post at Parkhead earlier this calendar year.
Celtic need a top-drawer replacement for Lennon after Rangers cruised to the Premiership title this season, with Steven Gerrard’s side boasting a 20-point lead as we speak.
And Howe, according to The Scottish Sun, is ‘seriously interested’ in the job.
And Rangers-daft White, speaking on his talkSPORT show this afternoon, encouraged the former Bournemouth boss to take the job at Lennoxtown, if it is offered to him due to the size of the Bhoys in comparison to his last club.
He said: “When he walks through the door at Celtic Park. This is what people down here don’t get. You walk through the front door at Celtic, walk through the reception area, you get to the tunnel and he’ll have 60,411 at his home games.”
Whatever happens, Celtic, who are also reportedly considering Chris Wilder and Roy Keane, must make the appointment as soon as possible.
The sooner the new man is installed, the more time he’ll be able to devise a plan to win their title back from the Ibrox side.
