The 2021/22 season in Scottish football officially starts today, but clubs have wasted no time in wheeling and dealing since the Transfer Window opened on June 9th – but how long do Rangers, Celtic and the rest of the Scottish clubs have to add new players?
There have been signings across all four divisions of the SPFL and beyond ahead of the return of competitive football, but there will be far more to come before the transfer window closes.
While 2020/21 saw the Summer Transfer Window extended, football is returning to normality with clubs having a more familiar timescale this summer to sign new players with the Window closing on August 31 at 11pm.
That will give clubs several weeks into the new league season to make the final touches to their squads with four months until they can add reinforcements.
Rangers and Celtic likely to be very busy before the Transfer Window closes

So far Rangers have added Fasion Sakala and Nnamdi Ofoborh to their title-winning squad, with Greg Stewart leaving after his contract ended and Bongani Zungu returning to Amiens at the expiry of his loan.
Over the city, Celtic will need to add a number of new players as Ange Postecoglou gets started as Neil Lennon’s replacement.
With Scott Brown away to Aberdeen and Odsonne Edouard seemingly desperate to leave as well as rumours of interest in a number of other Parkhead stars, there’s much work to be done by the Australian.
