Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has taken up boxing, it seems.

In photos circulating on Twitter, the legendary Spanish marksman can be seen sparring with somebody, as per musician Omar Montes’s Instagram account.

Torres, who joined Liverpool in 2007, unveiled his remarkable body transformation a little earlier this year.

The 36-year-old has morphed into one hell of a unit since hanging up his boots and his latest endeavour in the ring indicates that it’s a lifestyle he has grown to love.

When did Fernando Torres retire?

The ex-Spain international called it a day in the summer of 2019.

Torres left boyhood club Atletico Madrid in 2018 and later signed for Japanese outfit Sagan Tosu, where he netted three goals in 21 outings during the 2018-19 campaign [Transfermarkt].

For somebody as lethal as him once upon a time, averaging one goal every seven games in Japan was probably a big hint that it was time to call it a day.

He was adored by the Anfield faithful during his three-and-a-half year stint with Liverpool, scoring 81 goals in only 142 games, but a record-breaking £50 million move to Chelsea in January of 2011 saw him tarnish his legacy among Reds fans.

Torres never quite replicated his Liverpool form in West London, but his spell in the capital did yield a Champions League and Europa League title in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
