Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool career looks to be coming to an end.

Having spent the last nine years in the senior team of the Merseyside club, the fullback is out of contract at the end of the season and it looks like the England international will not be agreeing new terms with the Premier League leaders.

Liverpool have agreed a new deal with Mohamed Salah and are closing in on a new contract for Virgil van Dijk, which is a major boost for Arne Slot heading into the 2025/26 campaign.

Alexander-Arnold looks set to join Real Madrid this summer and it is now being reported when Carlo Ancelotti found out that the right-back would be joining the La Liga giants.

When Real Madrid told Carlo Ancelotti that Trent Alexander-Arnold would be joining

Alexander-Arnold is already considered as one of the best full-backs to ever play in the Premier League and it is not a surprise that Real Madrid were very keen on bringing him to Spain this summer as the 26-year-old is set to become a free agent.

The Liverpool star is one of a kind going forward and his talent has rarely been seen in a full-back, with the Reds defender producing 22 goals and 90 assists throughout the 250 games he has featured in for Merseyside club.

The Athletic are reporting that Alexander-Arnold made a decision on his future earlier this year and that Real Madrid told Ancelotti in March the right-back would be coming to the Bernabeu.

The La Liga giants tried to bring the defender to Spain in January, as a result of the injuries they have in their defensive line, however, Liverpool did not want to let him go mid-season.

It is believed that Ryan Gravenberch would also like to play for Real Madrid someday, but that is unlikely to happen any time soon as the Dutch star will not want the criticism Liverpool fans have sent Alexander-Arnold’s way after making his decision to leave at the end of the season.

Liverpool handed boost in Dean Huijsen race

The Athletic reported on Thursday that Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is very likely to join another Premier League club, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all interested.

Liverpool have shown interest in Huijsen before and with Slot set to enter the transfer market for a new centre-back this summer, the Spain international is an option as the youngster has impressed this season in the Premier League.

Real Madrid were believed to be Huijsen’s preferred destination; however, The Athletic states that Real Madrid are unlikely to make a move for the 19-year-old this summer.

The centre-back has been talked about behind the scenes at the Bernabeu, but it has become known that the La Liga champions cannot justify paying £50m for a 19-year-old, which is the release clause in the defender’s Bournemouth contract.

Madrid have been in contact with Huijsen’s entourage and have received positive signs, but the expectation is that the defender will leave Bournemouth for another Premier League club this summer.

This is a huge boost for the likes of Liverpool as Real Madrid would have been big players in this race and their absence makes it easier for the Reds to acquire one of Europe’s most sought-after talents.
