‘When can we sell him’: Some Arsenal fans react to what they’re hearing from Wenger signing

The biggest game of Arsenal’s season awaits them as they prepare to take on their former manager in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final showdown on Thursday night.

A lot will be on the line at the Emirates, from Mikel Arteta’s future to the future of certain players who simply haven’t performed this season or during past seasons.

After chasing the Golden Boot during previous campaigns, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has gone off the boil this time around and he told his pre-match press conference that he feels ‘a bit responsible’ for not scoring more goals.

The £56 million (BBC Sport) Gabon star, who was brought to the club by Arsene Wenger, also made it clear that he wants to ‘lead’ Arsenal against Villarreal.

Its comments which have sparked a mixed reaction from the seemingly frustrated Arsenal fanbase.

On one hand, many are happy to hear such drive and positivity from their star striker, whilst others think talk has been cheap for way too long.

In truth, no matter what or what hasn’t been said, everyone in Arsenal colours will be judged by the result and the result alone on Thursday evening.

If Arsenal can secure the win then during this abject campaign they can dream of Champions League football.

But if they suffer that knockout blow then many Arsenal fans will be calling for the head of Mikel Arteta and many of the players won’t be able to survive the heat that comes their way.
