England clinched top spot in Group D at Euro 2020 with a 1-0 win over Czech Republic last night.

Raheem Sterling’s second goal of the tournament was enough to preserve the Three Lions’ unbeaten start.

That made it seven points out of nine in the group phase but what comes next?

When is England’s next game at the Euros? And who do England play next? We’ve got all you need to know in the wake of last night’s win.

When are England playing next?

England’s round of 16 game will take place on Tuesday 29 June.

We don’t yet know which channel it will be shown on.

What time do England kick off?

The match will start at 5pm.

That means there may well be people up and down the country trying to get an early dart from work!

Who do England play in the round of 16?

We don’t know for sure yet.

But we know it’ll be a team from Group F. That pool has been dubbed the ‘group of death’.

That’s because it contains France, Germany and Portugal as well as Hungary.

That means the last three major tournament winners have all been drawn together.

France won the 2018 World Cup, Portugal won the Euros last time around and Germany won the 2014 World Cup.

As it stands, France are top of the group, with Germany second and Portugal third.

But all four teams could yet qualify. England will play whoever comes second in that group.

That means we could get another clash with our traditional nemesis, although plenty could change tonight.

France face Portugal tonight and Germany play Hungary.

Most England fans would probably want to avoid France, given the choice. All three pose a threat, and even France drew with Hungary the other day, so they’re not infallible.

England will learn who they’ll face tonight, when the group stage concludes.
