Gary Neville just couldn’t believe what he was seeing from Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison at the Qatar World Cup on Monday, as Brazil trashed South Korea 4-1 during their last-16 contest.
Tottenham’s summer signing netted his third goal of the tournament – and once again – it was a thing of beauty from the versatile attacker, with Neville asking ‘what’s happened to him’, as showboated his way to a goal.
Flair, confidence, fearless nature and that old Brazilian magic, these under-pressure stars are producing the goods and doing it with some style, so far on football’s biggest stage.

After 20 minutes of yesterday’s game, the game was up for South Korea and they were preparing for their journey back home because they were getting ripped apart.
By the time the half-time whistle blew, it was 4-0 and Brazil had produced THE attacking performance of the World Cup so far, and Neville was left impressed, as he told beIN SPORTS (05/12/22 at 7:55 pm).
“I bet there are kids at home watching around the world thinking ‘this is what football is’,” said Neville. “Dancing, flair and enjoyment.
“What’s happened to Richarlison? What’s happened to him? He’s been at Everton and at Tottenham. I mean look at him! My favourite goal of the tournament, so far. This one is better. The skill, the interplay.”

RICHARLISON STEPPING UP
It’s not easy leading the line for Brazil because of the legendary figures that have come before, but so far, Richarlison is doing the business.
It’s perhaps even difficult for the player because he’s not playing for one of Europe’s elite teams on the domestic stage and he hasn’t won trophy, after trophy.
Therefore, it’s easier to question him than a Neymar, who has donned Barcelona colours, and won the lot at club level.
But Richarlison is proving that he probably performs better for Brazil than he has done previously for Everton, or now Tottenham.
