Harry Redknapp has suggested things have become worse for Dele Alli at Everton following his Tottenham exit in January, as he told talkSPORT.
The former Spurs manager stated it would have been ‘almost embarrassing’ for the 25-year-old to be returning to Spurs on Monday and sitting on the bench.
Alli was introduced late into the action by Frank Lampard, with his Everton side getting slapped 5-0 by Spurs.
Following his January move to Goodison Park, Alli is yet to start a game for Lampard’s side and that’s a worry given that they have been abject.
Even though he has been there for less than two months, Redknapp is already questioning what is happening to Alli.
“What’s happened to Dele Alli?” said Redknapp. “Frank brought him in and so excited about bringing him.
“There has to be something wrong with what he is doing because he can’t get into the team. He goes back to Tottenham and it’s almost embarrassing.
“When you have been a big player, and you go back to your old club, you don’t want to be sitting on the bench.
“You want to show them what you can do. But that’s how he has been since he’s been there. Done nothing. And I have been one of his biggest fans.”

Even though Alli has walked into an absolute mess at Goodison Park, all of this does his career no favours.
The 32-cap England international has been on the decline for many years, hence why Spurs decided to offload him.
Many have felt that Alli’s career has been heading in the wrong direction for too long and it won’t stop.
If Everton continue to stumble, and dare it be said, head towards the Championship, then it would really be a new low in Alli’s previously promising career.
