Jose Enrique has asked ‘what is going on’ at Liverpool amid rumours that Sporting Director Julian Ward is set to leave the club at the end of the season, as he posted on Instagram.
The Times have claimed that Ward is set to depart despite only replacing the previously-popular Michael Edwards in the summer.
With the Reds aiming for a rebuild of their squad, and looking towards the transfer market to refresh, from back to front, the last thing they need is for the brains behind the operation to head for the exit door.

Well, that’s exactly what is set to happen and it will be interesting to see how that affects the team from now until the end of the season.
When Ward initially replaced Edwards, the new man in the boardroom had big shoes to fill given the job his departed colleague had done.
Nonetheless, when the news broke about Ward, former Liverpool left-back Enrique expressed his shock on his IG and added ‘what the ____ is going on at our club?’.

KLOPP IS STILL AT THE CLUB
The heart of Liverpool’s success over the years has been Jurgen Klopp, so whilst Ward is set to depart, the German is still on Merseyside.
Not forgetting that he, along with Mo Salah, recently signed new contracts.
Yes, the surprise exit of Ward doesn’t help matters, but it still shouldn’t hide the fact that whoever is playing a part in the club’s transfer room needs to help refresh the squad from back to front.
