Missing out on Dan James is a decision Leeds United could regret for a long time.

The Swansea City speedster has really hit form for club and country over the past month and looks destined for a big move.

The problem for Leeds is that they are likely out of the running. The Sun claim Manchester City are interested. Wales Online report Tottenham, Bournemouth and Leicester are showing an interest too.

Leeds came agonisingly close to signing James, having him in for a medical before Swansea pulled the plug on a deal.

Their chances aren’t over, but there must be some realism too, that competing with City and Tottenham is likely to see them lose out.

There is reason for encouragement though, and that’s manager Marcelo Bielsa’s eye for talent.

James is blossoming, and Bielsa forecast his rise to becoming a potential superstar.

Bielsa was so set on signing James for Leeds, that he made clear it was the Welshman or nobody else in January.

The Argentine is famed for his analysis, and his eye for talent bodes well for Leeds this summer.

The Wales international may soon be beyond Leeds, but Bielsa’s ability to spot an extraordinary talent suggests the Whites are in good hands when it comes to signing players this summer, and there will be exciting players coming into Elland Road regardless.
