Would signing Ryan Fredericks spell the end of Sam Byram at West Ham United?

If rumours are believed, then West Ham United have made Fulham right-back Ryan Fredericks a “top target”.
The 25-year-old could be available on a free transfer this summer and, according to Football London, West Ham are interested.
But what would Fredericks’s arrival mean for Sam Byram?

The 24-year-old has only made 26 Premier League appearances in the two years since his £3.7 million move from Leeds United.
Pablo Zabaleta is ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment but surely the signing of Fredericks would indicate that Moyes does not have long-term plans for Byram.

Moyes has only given Byram two Premier League starts since joining the Irons in November and it doesn’t bode well for his future in East London.
That being said, he is more involved now than he was originally under the Scottish manager, but unless he can blow Moyes away over the coming months then it seems probable that the former Everton man will push ahead with his plan to sign the Fulham man.
If and when that happens, it’s likely to be the final nail in Byram’s coffin with the Hammers.
