What would Everton re-calling Henry Onyekuru mean for Ademola Lookman?

Everton striker Ademola Lookman has already struggled for game time so far this season.

According to 90 Minutes Goal in Nigeria, Everton are considering recalling Henry Onyekuru from his loan spell at Anderlecht.

Everton had sent the 20-year-old out on loan to the Belgian champions for the season, but their attacking struggles have led to Ronald Koeman’s side considering recalling the youngster.

Everton will need to appeal against Onyekuru’s initial work permit application, which was rejected.

The Toffees feel that the attacker should be granted a work permit, on the basis that they consider him to be a ‘special talent’.

If Onyekuru does return to Everton it will improve Koeman’s offensive options, and there would have to be a question of what it would mean for Ademola Lookman.

Lookman has already struggled for appearances at Everton this season, and he is yet to feature at all in the Premier League.

The youngster has been forced to watch on from the substitutes’ bench regularly, with Koeman seemingly preferring other members of his Everton squad.

And if Onyekuru, who was a £7 million signing last summer (Daily Mirror), was to arrive at Goodison Park early it would only serve to increase competition for places, leaving Lookman’s first-team chances even more limited.
