Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Andres Guardado from Real Betis in the January transfer window.

According to El Gol Digital, Leeds United are interested in signing Andres Guardado from Real Betis and are willing to spend as much as £5.2 million on him.
The Mexico international is a very versatile footballer who can operate as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, left-winger or left-back, and the 31-year-old would be a stunning signing for Leeds.
Of course, it remains to be seen if the Whites actually make the move or whether the former Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna star would be interested in joining a team in the Championship in England.
However, this latest speculation does raise questions on the future of Pablo Hernandez, whose current contract at Leeds runs out at the end of the season.

Hernandez, who initially joined Leeds on a six-month contract from Al-Arabi in the summer of 2016 when Garry Monk was in charge of the Whites, is a very creative footballer and his importance in the current team cannot be undermined, but the Spaniard does go through spells when he struggles.
Moreover, the former Valencia and Swansea City star will be 33 in April next year, and it may not make great business sense to hand him a new deal if Leeds can get someone younger.

True, Guardado is 31, but given his versatility to play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, left-back or left-winger, he would be more attractive than Hernandez.
Liga Professional de Futbol named Guardado as the best attacking midfielder in Liga Adelante for the 2011-12 season when he was at Deportivo.
