Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a decision to make on Jordan Rossiter if he doesn’t stay fit.

Jordan Rossiter must be bitterly disappointed by how his spell at Rangers has gone.

The 20-year-old arrived from Liverpool 16 months ago but it has been a nightmare spell at Ibrox after making just one Premiership appearance since September 2016.

Injuries have taken their toll on such a fantastic talent and you have to wonder whether manager Pedro Caixinha should offload him in January if he is not winning his battle to get and – most importantly – stay fit.

Caixinha confirmed to Rangers’ official website last month that the youngster missed the Old Firm game with Celtic due to a knee injury and while a prognosis was not offered, the fact that he hasn’t kicked a ball since August isn’t good.

According to The Daily Mail, Rossiter, signed by Mark Warburton in May 2016, is earning £10,000 per week in Glasgow.

He is a major talent but the sad truth is that he is also an expensive investment for the Gers and Caixinha – who didn’t sign him – may be tempted to cut him loose if he isn’t a fit-and-firing member of his squad by January.

You don’t make six Europa League appearances for Liverpool at the age of 18 unless you’re a big talent, but as time goes on you wonder whether Rangers are waiting for something that might not happen.

Fans of the Scottish club will hope for good news regarding Rossiter once club football resumes, but they shouldn’t get their hopes up until he is in the squad every week.
