West Ham have now made a decision on David Moyes – regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season.

What’s the story?

Well – according to 90min – the east Londoners have decided to part ways with Moyes this summer.

It is said that West Ham will sack the 59-year-old even if they go on to secure their Premier League status and also win the UEFA Europa Conference League.

There is believed to be extreme concern from those in the boardroom at the London Stadium about this season’s alarming plight, which has come despite £170m worth of reinforcements back in the summer and also in January.

David Sullivan has refrained from sacking Moyes this season as he believes there are no better options available.

However, 90min believe that his backing will not extend through to the 2023/24 campaign, with the managerial market expected to be more attractive in the summer.

The primary problem is said to be a lack of progression, with West Ham under the impression that fresh ideas are needed to get the best out of the squad.

West Ham currently find themselves 18th with 24 points to their name, one point away from safety albeit with a game in hand.

West Ham right to move on from David Moyes

In our view, it is the right time for West Ham to move on from Moyes.

The likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta have not really adjusted to the Scot’s style of play, and the Hammers have far too much individual quality to sit 18th in the Premier League.

We believe a manager more attuned to modern tactics is required to get the best out the talent such as the aforementioned duo.

That isn’t to say that Moyes hasn’t done a fantastic job since returning to the London Stadium – it just feels as if he has taken West Ham as far as he can.

90min did not mention any potential replacements for Moyes, so make sure to keep an eye out for any emerging candidates.
