
Celtic defender Antony Ralston has been called-up to the Scotland national team for the first time following the suspension of Nathan Patterson.
The Scottish FA confirmed on their official Twitter account that the 22-year-old right-back will be part of the squad that will play in tomorrow’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Denmark.
Ralston has been one of Celtic’s best players this season, and both Hoops fans and Scotland supporters were surprised that the fullback wasn’t initially selected at the beginning of the month.
After being in and out of the Celtic side, Ralston has excelled this campaign, with the academy graduate hitting four goals and making 23 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops.
Indeed, Ange Postecoglou’s arrival has been the making of Ralston. And this latest achievement from the youngster is more than earned. Moreover, the 22-year-old one of the best performing defenders in Scotland.
And with Ralston now part of Steve Clarke’s side for Monday, there is a chance that the defender could get minutes in Scotland’s massive fixture against Denmark.
