Jamie O’Hara has suggested on TalkSPORT that Eddie Howe would be a better fit for Everton than Rafael Benitez.
Everton were looking likely to appoint Benitez, although reports on TalkSPORT suggest that those talks have now fallen through.
That leaves Everton having to go back to square one, as they search for a new boss.
And O’Hara feels that Howe could be an ideal fit for the Toffees now.
“I don’t know if that [Benitez] is what they need. Someone like Eddie Howe would be the right fit for them,” he said.
“I think he’s an Everton fan, he likes the club, he’s young and has great philosophies. That’s more where Everton should be going.”
Howe a positive change?
Howe certainly would be a less controversial choice than Benitez if he was to take charge.

Everton fans were largely furious when the Spaniard was linked due to his Liverpool connections and past comments about them.
Howe, however, has only spoken positively about Everton before – as he was a supporter of the Merseyside club.
Howe’s stock has fallen recently, due to Bournemouth’s relegation from the Premier League.
But there was once a time when he was widely regarded as one of the most forward thinking and exciting, young English managers around.
And if he was to be given a chance at Everton, he may well have an opportunity to restore that reputation again.
