Bilic is currently out of work, most recently managing Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.
The prospect of managing Celtic is not a matter of convenience to Bilic.
It’s something he has considered for a long time.
Back in 2010, Bilic told The Daily Record he would like to manage either Celtic or Rangers.
Celtic fans would argue there is only one choice for Bilic.
He said: “To manage one of the Old Firm would be a big honour and a big responsibility. It means a lot to so many people there.
“They’re institutions. They’re a way of living, they’re a religion. They’re not clubs, they’re much, much more than that.
“It’s not just football, it’s everything. It’s your life. If I had an invite from Celtic or Rangers to go for an interview I would walk to Glasgow.”
Bilic is a manager who is not afraid to display his emotion, and his passion would be clear on the touchline.
If Celtic are interested in him, they should send the signal, so he can begin his trek to Glasgow.
