Scottie Scheffler would have sent shockwaves through the Georgia pines with the start he made to his opening round at The Masters on Thursday.
There was a big question mark hanging over Scheffler heading into the first major of the year.
While the world number one has won on the PGA Tour this season, the 29-year-old has not looked to be anywhere near his best in recent months.
But there were signs of the old Scottie Scheffler on Thursday at Augusta National.
Scottie Scheffler enjoys a career first on Thursday at The Masters
Scheffler followed a par on the very first hole of his tournament by making an eagle on the par-five second.
The world number one then drove the green on the third to set up a birdie.

As it turns out, it is the first time in Scheffler’s already illustrious career that he has got off to such a strong start, as Justin Ray revealed on X.
He posted: ‘This is the first time in Scottie Scheffler’s Masters career he has started a round 3-under through 3.‘
Scheffler has sent out an ominous warning to all of his potential rivals at Augusta National
When you consider that Scheffler has won the Green Jacket on two occasions in six starts, finished in the top 10 four times, and never finished lower than 19th, that is a remarkable statistic.
It will certainly put the rest of the field on notice. Scheffler finished fourth at The Masters 12 months ago despite seemingly still working his way back to full sharpness after missing the start of the year with a hand injury.
Scheffler had not played going into this week since finishing just outside the top 20 at The Players Championship. He has also been given the very welcome distraction of the arrival of his second child recently.
So seeing him get off to such a flying start at a course he has played so well is ominous for those hoping to win this week.
