Everton are said to have tracked Donny van de Beek with Marco Silva potentially keen to snap up the midfielder.

It was only earlier this month when Ronald Koeman suggested to NU in Holland that Everton transfer target Donny van de Beek was causing him a problem.

Koeman is now in charge of Holland, and his wealth of midfield options means he constantly faces selection dilemmas.

Van de Beek’s form this season has forced him into Holland’s squad and also seemingly put himself on Everton’s radar.

Marcel Van Der Kraan told Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast that Everton have scouted the midfielder on numerous occasions.

And Everton fans should be encouraged about the potential that Van de Beek would have at Goodison Park, after reading Koeman’s comments.

“The development of Van de Beek does cause a luxury problem, but I think that is wonderful,” he said.

“The success in Europe has proved to be great for the development of Ajax players. Many players have grown and Van de Beek is the best example of this. He is knocking even more on the door than he already did.”

If Everton were able to pull off a deal for Van de Beek it would be a massive shock.

The Ajax man has been tipped to join one of Europe’s biggest sides, so Everton would be making quite a coup if they could persuade him to Goodison Park.

If Everton were to sign Van de Beek he could fit in well with Marco Silva’s philosophy though, as he has all the technical ability to thrive under the Portuguese boss.
