Richarlison’s thoughts on the prospect of going back to Everton emerge amid a challenging beginning to his season at Tottenham Hotspur.

The upcoming World Cup is a major focus for Richarlison, who is determined to earn a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad.

Everton have also had a slow start this season, with their forwards struggling to find form early on.

The Toffees are considering bringing in a new striker when the January transfer window opens, according to Everton News.

Richarlison is interested in an Everton return

Alan Brazil recently commented on how unhappy Richarlison looked during a match against Monaco.

Although he has scored three goals in the Premier League this season, the 28-year-old does not look like someone enjoying his football.

Regarding that, Bailey revealed to Everton News his understanding of Richarlison’s wish to rejoin Everton.

“Richarlison plain and simple is not off the agenda at Everton. He is a top class centre forward who loves the club – so why would they not be interested.

“The Friedkins had an interest in him this summer, there were some talks but the change of manager as Tottenham meant he was staying put and Richarlison firmly believes he could play his way into Brazilian World Cup contention and Carlo Ancelotti is picking him regularly.

“That said it still remains to be seen if he has a long-term future at Tottenham under Thomas Frank as Spurs are in the market for a new striker in 2026. That is the bit Everton are looking at, long-term. Come next summer – he is going to be on the agenda again, for sure,” Bailey explained.

The transfer expert then added: “Everton, as ambitious as they are, realise there is a limit at this moment to the players they can lure to the club but Richarlison they know would return – no doubt about it, they had confirmation via intermediaries that he would have come back in the summer if that was the option that emerged.

“Whilst not a January deal, Richarlison back to Everton remains in the thinking of the club and player. Am told he would love the chance to play at the new stadium for The Toffees.”

Adding Richarlison would give Everton a lift

Beto has found it hard to find form this season, and his finishing has not helped the team. While he offers plenty off the ball, Moyes expects more from his main striker.

Beyond that, a big part of Iliman Ndiaye’s game should be to deliver more assists. Working alongside a proven goalscorer like Richarlison could help him develop in that area.

A mid-season transfer during a World Cup year would be a significant gamble for the Brazilian. This makes Everton’s potential moves in the January transfer window particularly intriguing.
