Skip Bayless has admitted there is one part of Luka Doncic’s offensive game that continues to confuse him, despite the Lakers star dominating the scoring charts.

The take comes at a time when Doncic is putting up historic numbers, yet still drawing questions about how he gets them.

That contradiction is exactly what Bayless focused on.

Skip Bayless questions how Luka Doncic dominates offensively

Bayless shared his view on X while reacting to Doncic’s scoring form this season.

“I just can’t wrap my head around Luka Doncic as an offensive basketball player,” Bayless said. “Obviously, Luka is running away with the scoring title. Way to go, Luka. But how is he doing that?”

The comment reflects a disconnect between production and perception, where the numbers are undeniable, but the style raises questions.

It also highlights how unconventional Doncic’s offensive approach can appear.

Skip Bayless points to Luka Doncic’s usage and shot volume

Skip Bayless then broke down what he believes is driving those scoring numbers.

“The ball is going to be in his hands about, you know, going on 40% of the time … on top of that, as he does, [he] attempts the most shots in the league by far, and he attempts the most three-point shots in the league by far,” Bayless added.

The argument centers on usage rate and volume, suggesting that opportunity plays a major role in Doncic’s output.

It also frames his scoring as a result of the system and role rather than pure efficiency. That tension between dominance and style is what keeps the debate around him alive.
