Arsenal fans on Twitter are reacting to the debacle involving their North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

A rotten couple of months for Spurs got worse on Thursday after it was reported that talks to appoint Paulo Fonseca had collapsed.

It has been two months since Tottenham fired Jose Mourinho and negotiations with Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte had already broke down prior to Daniel Levy turning his attentions toward Fonseca.

In addition to that, it was reported by Tuttomercatoweb that the Lilywhites were now close to hiring Gennaro Gattuso – and here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted to that development on Twitter:

Fall from grace

Even a lot of Tottenham fans wouldn’t blame Arsenal supporters for finding pleasure in this mess.

Spurs were in a Champions League final two years ago, and 18 months ago hired a marquee coach like Jose Mourinho.

To go from all that – and almost hiring a name like Conte – to being on the brink of appointing Gattuso is quite a marked downgrade.

The AC Milan legend, who quit as Fiorentina coach after only two weeks yesterday, is very much an unproven manager and only has a Coppa Italia with Napoli in 2020 on his CV.
