Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is edging closer to a sensational return to Manchester United, with reports suggesting the Norwegian is willing to sacrifice almost everything to take charge again.

The former manager, who left the club in 2021, is said to be open to accepting any terms if it means getting another opportunity to lead the team following Ruben Amorim’s departure.

Manchester United’s search for a new permanent manager has gathered pace in recent days, with the club considering several candidates who understand its culture and long-term ambitions.

Among those, Solskjaer has re-emerged as a strong internal favourite thanks to his past experience and his deep emotional connection to the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strengthens his case for Manchester United return

In an update shared by renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, it was reported, “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is becoming stronger and stronger in the internal ideas of Manchester United.

Romano added: “Today, [there was] a face-to-face meeting between Solskjaer and Manchester United management to discuss this opportunity.

“Michael Carrick is also having conversations with Manchester United. Meanwhile, Jonny Evans has returned to the club as part of the backroom staff to help Darren Fletcher today on the touchline in the Premier League.”

“So it’s going to be a huge moment for Man United. I can confirm to you that the feeling is quite good around Solskjaer,” he stated.

The update confirms that Solskjaer is now being seriously considered by United’s hierarchy. His previous spell as manager, which included a Europa League final appearance and several notable wins against major rivals, left him with unfinished business.

With Manchester United facing another crucial rebuild, his familiarity with the club’s structure could provide much-needed stability.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ready to accept any terms for the Manchester United job

The report continued, “He’s ready to take the job. He’s ready to return to Man United. He’s ready to accept any condition in terms of financials, in terms of contract, in terms of the length of the contract, Ole is ready.”

“And so conversations are going quite well. Again, let’s wait in terms of timing for Manchester United to make a final decision, but there is a good chance to see Solskjaer back to the club after he offered himself to Manchester United,” Romano concluded.

Solskjaer’s willingness to accept a shorter deal or reduced salary underlines his motivation to restore pride and direction to a club he has always called home.

While the final decision rests with United’s leadership, Solskjaer’s stance and personal approach have made an impression.

For Manchester United, appointing Solskjaer would represent a return to familiarity at a time when the club needs calm and clarity. For Ole himself, it would be another chance to prove that his story at Old Trafford is not yet finished.
