Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka are leaving little to chance as they gear up for Wimbledon – and even their training sessions are starting to draw attention.

The Belarusian player trained with Jannik Sinner earlier this week, and now she’s taken to the court with Djokovic, who’s chasing history at SW19.

Roger Federer still holds the all-time record with eight Wimbledon crowns, while Djokovic shares seven with Pete Sampras and William Renshaw.

Sabalenka sits at the top of the WTA Tour rankings while Djokovic is sixth in the men’s standings, but both seem eager to improve their form by training with top players.

The training session itself wasn’t without a playful moment, as revealed by The Guardian reporter Tumaini Carayol. Speaking to the world number one about her grunting on court, Djokovic said: “That would be a hindrance on the ATP tour.”

But three-time Grand Slam champion Sabalenka seemingly took the joke in good spirits, replying: “I thought we were friends?”

The exchange didn’t end there. After practice, Sabalenka and Djokovic spent more than half an hour talking courtside.

Carayol shared on X: “After their training session, Djokovic and Sabalenka had a good 30+ minute discussion on the court, with Djokovic asking about Sabalenka’s career and giving her a lot of advice and encouragement. Good vibes at Wimbledon.”

At Wimbledon, Sabalenka hopes to bounce back after being defeated by Coco Gauff in the French Open final. She will enter the tournament with a target on her back as the world number one.

On the other hand, Djokovic chases the all-time record and a second successful run this season, after the ATP 250 event in Geneva. He will face Chilean player Cristian Garin in the opening round of the Grand Slam.
