Few would have ever believed that Nelly Korda would go through the entirety of 2025 without winning a single event on the LPGA Tour.

Nelly Korda was unquestionably the superstar of the women’s game last year. The American managed to win seven times, including at the Chevron Championship for her second major title.

It was clear that she would face some superb competition. Lydia Ko had a phenomenal 2024 in her own right, winning an Olympic gold medal and the AIG Women’s Open.

And Jeeno Thitikul established herself as one to watch by clinching the CME Group Tour Championship.

Nevertheless, no one would have expected Korda to not win once in 2025 – particularly with nearly 30 different players managing to triumph this season on the LPGA.

The run Nelly Korda needs to end heading into the 2026 LPGA season

Nelly Korda has had plenty of low moments – including during her incredible 2024 season – so there is little reason to think that she will not be able to bounce back in 2026.

But there is one statistic which may be particularly concerning for the 27-year-old as the season concludes.

You would have to go back to the US Women’s Open in June for the last time Korda ended the week ahead of Thitikul in an LPGA event.

The 22-year-old missed the cut at Erin Hills as Korda finished tied for second.

But since then, it has been incredibly one-sided between the pair.

Jeeno Thitikul has confirmed her status as a superstar on the LPGA Tour

Thitikul won the Buick LPGA Shanghai in October, while she retained her title at the CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburon this week.

That has helped the youngster finish ahead of Korda in the last eight events they have both played in.

Thitikul has also become the world number one in that time.

Korda still has the edge when it comes to major wins with Thitikul still awaiting her first victory in the five biggest events of the year.

But all of the momentum appears to be with Thitikul right now heading into 2026. Korda needs to start by ending the current wait to finish above her rival if she is going to recapture the magic of the 2024 season.
