Everton are said to be keen on signing Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure before deadline day.

If Doucoure does join Everton it will be the second time that he was worked under the management of Silva.
The Portuguese boss was in charge of Watford while Doucoure was there, and during that time Silva suggested that the Frenchman still needed to improve.
“Of course, Doucoure is improving and doing fantastically,” Silva said back in 2017.
“He’s a player who I pay a lot of attention to; he needs to improve more and more with his tactical behaviour and positioning in important moments of the game.
“With three at the back, he feels a little bit more free to play in the midfield line.”

Silva may well feel that Doucoure has now made the improvements he was wanting to see two years ago.
Doucoure has certainly made a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s top midfield enforcers over the years at Watford.
With Everton looking to replace Idrissa Gueye, he could be an ideal candidate to step into Silva’s first-team over the season ahead.
Everton begin their season with a match against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
