Tottenham were on the end of some mocking chants as Manchester City romped to a 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Premier League.

Spurs were not even playing on Wednesday night.

However, those in N17 still found themselves the butt of the joke as Manchester City fans teased them.

What Manchester City fans chanted about Tottenham during win over Arsenal

Well, those inside the Etihad Stadium could be heard chanting “are you Tottenham in disguise” as they hammered Arsenal.

Spurs were recently thrashed themselves as they suffered a humiliating 6-1 defeat to Newcastle on Tyneside.

Manchester City supporters seemingly remembered that game as they watched their own side dish out a rout, using Tottenham’s struggles to poke fun at Arsenal as the Gunners lost control of the Premier League title race.

Pep Guardiola’s side now sit just two points behind Mikel Arteta’s men with two games in hand, which would put them four points clear of the north Londoners if they win both.

Amid an extremely turbulent period for Tottenham, those who support Spurs would have taken some solace from seeing their arch rivals humiliated in Manchester on Wednesday night.

Spurs are currently managerless after firing Antonio Conte, while they are also without a Director of Football after Fabio Paratici was banned from football for 30 months.

Nevertheless – according to BILD – Julian Nagelsmann is interested in taking over at Tottenham after unfairly losing his job at Bayern Munich, which is encouraging news for Spurs fans.

As the likes of Manchester City taunt them for their current struggles, things would certainly be looking up for Tottenham if they managed to hire the German tactician.

Ralf Rangnick has even advised Nagelsmann to join Spurs, which opens up the possibility of the highly respected German replacing Paratici as Director of Football.

If Daniel Levy could pull that off, then it could be the start of a genuine rebuild for Tottenham.
